HERA 4. Projektno srečanje, 3. HERA kamp in 3. HERA delavnica

01. – 03. december 2023, Zagreb, Hrvaška

Ragbi klub HARK Mladost je gostil partnerski ragbi klub RK Ljubljana

iz skupnega »Projekta HERA« na 4. Projektnem srečanju, 3. HERA kampu in 3. HERA delavnici

01th  – 03rd December 2023, Zagreb, Croatia

Rugby club HARK Mladost hosted the partner rugby club

RK Ljubljana from the joint "HERA Project" for the 4rd Project meeting, 3rd HERA camp and 3rd HERA workshop

The "HERA Project" (The Health-Enhancing Rugby Activities Project) is a two-year project funded by the European Union that brought together two rugby clubs from two European Union countries; Croatian rugby club HARK Mladost and Slovenian rugby club RK Ljubljana. HARK Mladost is the leading partner in this cooperation. The main goal of the project is to solve the health problems of overweight in children, through a special customized program in rugby clubs, which deals with physical activities, nutrition and mental health of children and young people.

The weekend from 01 to 03 December 2023 was reserved for the following project activities: the fourth Project meeting, the third HERA camp and the third HERA workshop.

At the fourth meeting of the project team, both partners informed each other about all activities during the past period M1 (June 2022) – M17 (December 2023) of the HERA Project. The activity plan for the third HERA camp was discussed. The partners discussed the HERA Program, which, together with the HERA Action Plan, will be available to the general public and all rugby clubs upon completion of all project activities, as a result of the HERA project. The HERA program will serve all rugby clubs that are willing to deal with physical activity, nutrition and mental health of children and young people while incorporating SCforH (Sports Clubs for Health) principles into their regular activities. The details of the planned second HERA workshop were also discussed.

Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December 2023 were reserved for the main event called "the third HERA camp" with the aim of promoting rugby as a HEPA (Health-Enhancing Physical Activity) with children and youth up to 16 years, coaches and volunteers from both partner clubs.

After the joint Saturday morning training on the HARK Mladost playground and on the nearby Jarun lake, all participants had lunch together in the HARK Mladost premises and shared their experiences about the activities.

Saturday afternoon was reserved for free time, so due to the rainy weather, the visiting club went to the playground with a trampoline and go-kart tracks, where the participants used up all the remaining energy after the earlier sports activities at the HERA camp that day.

The second day of the HERA camp was reserved for all kinds of sports games related to rugby (rugby touch, rugby border game, rugby relay). After the sports activities, all participants took part in the third HERA workshop where they learned interactively about the importance of sports and a healthy lifestyle. After the workshop, all participants had a joint lunch with an exchange of experiences, after which the partners from RK Ljubljana returned home in the afternoon.

At the end of the weekend, all participants from both partner clubs expressed their satisfaction with the events during the final HERA camp. The HERA Project officially ends in June 2024, when the educational materials "HERA Program" and "HERA Action Plan" will be published, with which interested rugby clubs will be able to implement the HERA Program in the work of their clubs.
